Calling all bicyclists, walkers, runners, dog-walkers, skateboarders....The Virginia Capital Trail is an astounding fully paved 51.7 mile long multiple use trail that travels from James City County/Williamsburg through Charcles City County, Henrico County to the City of Richmond with lots of attractions along the way.
Parking is free along the Trail at The Jamestown Settlement, Jamestown Highschool, James City County Marina, Chickahominy Park, Charles City Courthouse, Cul’s Courthouse Grille, Indian Fields Tavern, Herring Creek Trailhead, Four Mile Creek Trailhead, Dorey Park, and Great Shiplock Park. You can even park overnight at the Great Shiplock Park, Herring Creek Trailhead, and Four Mile Creek Trailhead. Parking in the AmTrak (Main Street Station) Parking Lot does cost $5 a night.
